I had an auction that ended on 10/5.
The bidder did not pay, so I filed an Unpaid Item Dispute on 10/13.
She contacted just now saying her mom is in the hospital, so she wants to send me a money order.
Is this strange?
I mean, she has about 25 positive feedbacks as a buyer (Her rating is 100%), so she must have a Paypal account.
Or couldn’t she make one if she didn’t have one?
She obviously has internet access, since she was able to contact me.
I sympathize with her situation and I’d like to accomodating, but I’m a fairly new seller and this seemed strange to me. No?

There are alot of ebay scams, this is probably one of them. Send a paypal invoice to the email she provided , if you get no response then give her negative feedback with a warning to others about her being a potential scammer.
Never accept anything but PayPal or google Checkout . I’ve even had problems with those, but at least your money is in escrow with them , if it’s a check you can waive bye bye to your product and your money.
Money orders are NOT guaranteed funds , they are often times fraudulent. A cashier’s check is what these people are thinking of as guaranteed money.

No it is not strange that she would like to pay with a money order. Just do not send the merchandise until you get the money order. I sell womens undergarments on ebay. I accept check or money orders. Not everyone goes the paypal way.

Just because she has 25 positive feedbacks doesn’t mean she has a PayPal account.
Did you state in your auction the type of payments you accept? If you only want to accept PayPal, then you need to state that in your auction.

Take the Money Order unless you can get paid through PPal (preferred)

Money order is just like money to the buyer just don’t mail anything out untill your paid and the bank says it is cleared. Someone sent my mom 10,000 in fake money orders so the bank will know if it is a real money order in time. On the buyers end they can be ripped off from the seller I sent out a money order for 150 doll and never received anything. What have you got to loose. If they are offering to pay. Or just put the item back up for auction.

I would not take a money order, check, not even a cashiers check. There are a lot of counterfeits floating around.
